Welcome to C language

   * HISTORY OF C-LANGUAGE:

• C is Structured ,high level and machine Independent language .
• C was evolved from ALGOL, B CPL and and B by Dennis Ritchie at AT  &  T Bell laboratories, USA in 1972.  C uses many concepts from this language and added the concept of data types and other power full features.

•     UNIX operating system was developed in Bell laboratories is using C-language. 
• Initially C was used mainly in  academic   environment ,but with release of many C compilers for commercial use and the increasing popularity of  UNIX,it begins  to get wide spread support among computer professionals.
• During 1970"s C-language had involved  into"Traditional C ". C becomes more popular after publication of the Book " The Programing Language "by Brian Kernighan and Dennis Ritchie in 1978.Book was popular that the language comes to be known as "K& R C".
• The name C is given  because it comes after language B.
• To assure that the C language remains standard ,in1983 ,ANSI appointed a technical committee to define a standard fir C .the committee approved a version of C in 1989 which is now known as A N I S C .the standard was updated in 1999.

• Importance/Features/Characteristics of   C-language:

  1.C is robust language .

  2.C is highly portable.

  3.The program written in C efficient  and fast.

  4.C is modular language  which makes debugging ,testing and maintenance easier .
